Firearms Safety

2-hour class covering all the fundamentals to safely handle and store a handgun, rifle and shotgun. $50.

Unsure of what gun to buy? Let’s take a trip to the gun store, handle a bunch of guns and see what you like, what fits you and what serves your intended purpose. $50 per hour. One-on-one booking only, no groups.

Maryland requires its residents to have a permit to purchase a handgun. Starting off with a handgun can be a daunting task. Lots of buttons. Lots of options. Many manufactures and models. You will receive training to satisfy the Maryland Handgun Qualification License application to include safety and storage of firearms, basic nomenclature of revolvers and semi-automatic handguns, basic shooting fundamentals, ammunition and cleaning and maintenance. 

Range Safety Officer (RSO) - learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure and an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure. Successful students will receive an NRA RSO Certificate.

Basic Pistol

8-hour class covering all the fundamentals to handle and shoot a semi-automatic or revolver. Includes range time to shoot over 50 rounds. Course meets Maryland’s training requirements for the Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and students receive an NRA Certificate. $185.

Basic Rifle

8-hour class covering all the fundamentals to handle and shoot a semi-automatic rifle and provides overview and handling of other types of rifles. Includes range time to shoot over 40 rounds and students receive an NRA Certificate. $200.

Basic Shotgun

8-hour class covering all the fundamentals to handle and shoot a semi-automatic shotgun and provides overview and handling of other types of shotguns. Includes range time to shoot over 20 rounds and students receive an NRA Certificate. $200.
